Jraedutalk— The East Java Provincial Government will provide free fares for the TransJatim bus service during the Idul Fitri holiday period on March 21–22, 2026.
Head of Road Transport Facilities and Services Section at the East Java Transportation Agency (Dishub), Cito Eko Yuly Saputro, said the policy applies to all TransJatim corridors, including routes in the Malang Raya area.
“Free rides will apply to all TransJatim corridors, including the Malang Raya corridor,” Cito said.
According to him, the fare exemption will be implemented for two days to support public mobility during the Idul Fitri holiday season, when travel activities usually increase significantly across the province.
HeHe explained that the policy was implemented under the directive of East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, in coordination with East Java Transportation Agency Head Nyono.
“The free fare policy is intended as a public service initiative to make travel easier for residents during the Idul Fitri holiday,” Cito added.
The program is expected to encourage people to use public transportation during the festive period, while also helping to reduce traffic congestion on major roads in East Java.
TransJatim buses currently operate across several intercity corridors connecting key urban areas in the province, providing an affordable and reliable transportation option for commuters and travelers alike.
